In the 1900s, local meatpacking and grain processing operations fueled growth for warehouse companies in Omaha. Known as wholesale jobbers, these businesses purchased goods directly from manufacturers, transported them via rail to Omaha and sold them locally to small business owners through traveling salesmen. During this time, Omaha became one of the leading meat processing and grain storage centers in the country.

A growing corrugated paper manufacturing company, Omaha Box Company, needed more warehouse and production space. Opus helped them design, develop and construct a new warehouse in the Omaha suburb of Papillion for 301,000 square feet. The building was designed to increase efficiencies and accommodate more advanced industrial equipment.

A strong banking sector and the presence of many insurance companies make Omaha a top-tier financial hub in the nation. The city is also the home of two major professional sports teams and a wide range of entertainment venues. Its proximity to both coasts and its central time zone makes it a natural choice for call center operations, which is why many nationwide companies have their headquarters in the city.
